Using Your Own Domain

If you don’t want to use the default subdomain provided by CurdBee for invoices and estimates you send, you can easily replace it with your own custom URL. Instead of directing clients to http://yoursubdomain.curdbee.com, you can just send them to http://yourdomain.com. Read on to see how you can get started right away!
Change your domain settings
To add a new CNAME Record for your domain, use the DNS panel of your domain registrar. There, enter the subdomain you wish to use as the Name. For example, if you want to use billing.example.com then enter ‘billing’ as the name. Then enter your current CurdBee subdomain (i.e. example.curdbee.com.) as the corresponding value to your CNAME (some DNS interfaces may label it as Host Name, Fully-Qualified Domain or Data).
To check whether your domain name was correctly propagated, you could do a simple ping. You should get an output similar to the following screenshot. (PING should display your CurdBee subdomain):

Configure your CurdBee settings
- Firstly, make sure that you are logged in, and have the Expansion Pack add-on enabled for your account. See our support article on enabling Expansion Pack for more information on how to do this.
- Click on the Settings link at the top right hand corner of your CurdBee home screen, and then select System Preferences from the sidebar. On the system preferences page, you will see the Custom Domain section.
- In the Your Domain Name field (pictured above), enter the domain or subdomain you would like to forward to CurdBee’s billing interface. Scroll to the bottom of the page and hit Save Changes. That’s it, you’re done!

You can now create and send a test invoice to verify whether the URL change has been successfully applied.
Please Note
It may take up to 48 hours for your DNS changes to propagate throughout the Internet. During this period your custom URL may not be accessible from all geographical regions. Please verify that your new URL is reachable before sending out invoices.
Custom domain enabled URLs will not be SSL encrypted. This is because browsers issue a warning when the given URL doesn’t match with the domain range SSL certificate is registered for (*.curdbee.com). So if you are more concerned on the security of a particular transaction, we suggest you share the standard link with the CurdBee subdomain with your client (http://yoursubdomain.curdbee.com).
